Russian Imperial 84 Silver Dinner Spoon c.1880s

Description: Large solid silver dinner spoon from Imperial Russia period. This "fiddle" type pattern is probably the most popular in the world and one of the oldest ones. Marked with 84 Russian silver purity mark, Moscow assay mark and maker's mark "NP", for Nikolai Pavlov, a Moscow silversmith in late 19th century. The spoon has a date engraved - 1936, but this was post likely a presentation date - the spoon itself was made in 1880s, the silversmith shop of Nikolai Pavlov was closed in 1889. Good condition - some wear on the tip of the bowl. 8.5" long.
