Use Hoppe's 9 with Hoppe's Gun Cleaning Patches after each firing. Saturate a patch with Hoppe's 9. Push it slowly back and forth in the bore and pull it back out of the muzzle. This will clean out most of the fouling residue and lubricate the bore at the same time. Repeat the process until the patch is fairly clean. Do the same thing with dry patches until a patch comes out clean. Now you are ready for firing again. For re-loading use Hoppe's 9 as your patch lubricant. Be sure you go through the same cleaning process when you are finished shooting. This time, however, clean the breech also. Finally, before storing your firearm, coat the bore, barrel exterior and breech with a thin layer of Hoppe's 9 Moisture Displacing Lubricant as a safeguard against corrosion and rust.
