1979 RUSH Studio Pottery LADY HEAD VASE Wall Pocket Lg Catawba Valley NC Planter This amazing studio pottery wall planter, signed Rush '79, features the detailed design of a Victorian lady complete with her red curls, flowers in her hair and brooch on the collar of her ruffled blouse. The ultimate head vase and/or wall pocket for your collection. I have searched the net over and found nothing like it. The only Rush Pottery I found is a Julia Rush of Catawba Valley/Hickory NC. Measuring approx. 11" in height,  10" wide and 5 3/4", it is a heavy piece of pottery weighing approx. 12 pounds, unpackaged. Excellent condition with some minor manufacturing flaws as is common with this type of pottery such as little firing cracks, etc. There is some chipping on inside by holes but I think this is from the making. There is a handle piece inside which I think was put in to keep her from collapsing during firing but makes a great handle for picking it up.   Signed Rush '79. Really an amazing piece of pottery. Vintage items are a piece of history and always in style. This tends to also magnify minor flaws on item which many times cannot be seen on actual item. Due to this magnification (especially on small items and jewelry), photos may make items look larger than they actually are. For greater accuracy, please check dimensions given in the description. It is also possibly that the colors/brightness shown on your monitor are different from those on actual item due to different settings.   ~Shipping~ For larger items where the quote shown is for priority mail, the charge may seem very high due to size or weight. If you click on the "see details" link to right of shipping price, you will also be given a quote for parcel post shipping which in many case, is less than half the price of priority. I have shipped thousands of items via parcel post and have had no problem other than it maybe taking several days longer to arrive. Items usually ship next business day after payment is received. Occasionally, though due to the time payment was received, handling time, etc., it may take an extra day, especially if payment is made late Thursday. In this case, it will probably be Monday before your purchase is mailed. I appreciate your patience. Save shipping with multiple purchases..Always glad to combine purchases to save shipping.
