Overview: Finely detailed French plique a jour pendant (circa 1920s to 1930s), crafted in 18 karat yellow gold.
A kaleidoscope of colors adorn the pendant in shades of red, blue and green. Plique a jour is a French term for 'letting in daylight'. The enameling technique is applied in small cells or tiny areas and is similar to cloisonné. No backing is on the pendant so light can shine through the translucent enamel. In natural light the colors are vivid and mimic a beautiful stained glass effect.
Chain not included (for display purposes only).
The pendant is in excellent original condition. It has not been cleaned in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
