Finely detailed vintage Art Deco era ring (circa 1920s to 1930s), crafted in 10 karat rose gold. 

The bust of a Roman soldier is embossed in gold, set against a black onyx background. Typically the bust is carved in agate. The gold embossed bust is quite unusual. The black onyx measures 12mm x 9mm.   

The ring is in excellent condition.
