The ring is made by Ostby &
Barton, one of the most well known jewelry manufacturers of the period. The
firm was founded in 1879 and ceased production around the 1950s. Sadly, Ostby
perished aboard the Titanic whilst his elder daughter survived. Today, Ostby
& Barton jewelry is highly desired by collectors of fine vintage jewelry
for the exquisite workmanship and history behind the company.
Faceted onyx measures 18mm x 9mm and one estimated 0.02 carat single cut diamond adorns the mount (estimated at I color and I1 clarity). The ring is in excellent original condition.
