Elegant antique Victorian (circa 1880s to
1900s) 'Rose of Sharon' ring, crafted in 10 karat rose gold.
Oval cut amethyst measures 11.5mm x 8mm
(estimated at 3.25 carats). The old rose cut diamond is estimated a 0.02 carats
(estimated at J color and I1 clarity). Note: light surface abrasions to the
amethyst and slight chip (visible under a 10x loupe).
Rose of Sharon rings were very popular during the
Victorian era, given as engagement rings, promise rings or love tokens.
The ring is in good original
condition with wear evident considered appropriate wear given the age of the ring.
