Overview: Finely detailed Halley's comet antique Victorian (circa 1880s to 1900s) diamond brooch, crafted in 15 karat yellow gold.
Old cushion cut diamonds range in size from 0.10 to 0.20 carats and total an estimated 1.25 carats (estimated at I color and SI2-I1 clarity).
Halley's comet passed in 1835 and again in 1910. The next showing will be in 2061!
The brooch is in excellent original condition.

Size & Measurements: The brooch measures 1 1/4 inches in length and the diamond mount measures 9.5mm wide (0.37 inches). The brooch is petite in scale.
Metal & Hallmark: Solid 15 karat yellow gold. The brooch is not hallmarked though it has tested positive for 15 karat gold. We scratch tested the brooch and it tested strong for 14k gold and slightly lower than 18k gold, hence we determined the brooch to be 15 karat gold (15k gold was used during this time period).
