The Expeditious Measurer
Baker & Taylor Company, 1945, Stereotype Edition, Corrected, 1945. Very Good plus and No/Jacket. 4.5 x 10". Tan cloth with black titles. A couple of slight bumps around the edges.
Title continues: "Containing a Set of Tables Which Show at One View the Solid Contents of All Kinds of Packages and Casks According to their Several Lengths, Breadths and Depths; Also Rules for Determining the Contents of All Sorts of Casks in Wine or Beer Measure"
This is essentially a set of tables, with cloth thumb tabs (internal - not projecting beyond boards), which are entered with a given depth, or least dimension of a cask or box, and next locating a given length and breadth on the table, one finds the volumetric contents of the measured vessel. Also included are formulae for computing casks, which belly out in the middle so that the tables are not applicable, and the volume of timber logs. This appears to be a facsimile (stereotype) reprint of an earlier book, but I can find no earlier dates. 196 pp.
