The Studiophile DSM3 from M-Audio is a professional-quality 2-way nearfield monitor ideal for use in small professional, home, or mobile studios. The high-density ported cabinet houses dual 6.5" anodized aluminum woofers and a 1" soft fabric neodymium tweeter with a built in heat sink to provide clear, accurate audio with low distortion and minimized power compression. The layout of the speaker elements minimizes vertical reflections while providing a wide horizontal sweet spot. The speaker components are powered by a lightweight and efficient Class-D amplifier, which provides an output power of 180W.
The rear of the cabinet features both analog and digital inputs, allowing you to use the monitor with virtually any audio system you encounter. XLR and TRS analog inputs are provided, as well as a digital XLR AES/EBU port, a S/PDIF RCA input, and a S/PDIF RCA thru connector. The digital inputs allow you to support high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz.
The monitor also includes extensive DSP features. The onboard DSP engine controls a 4th-order digital crossover, and also provides accurate imaging by compensating for phase differences between the drivers. Rear panel switches allow you to customize the monitor for your workspace by adjusting high and low frequency roll-offs, EQ settings, and physical placement settings.
