Convergent Design's nano3D Bundle brings professional 3D recording and playback to the industry-leading nanoFlash HD/SD camera-mountable recorder. Comprised of two stacked nanoFlash units that together are smaller than any competing single-stream recorder, the nano3D captures frame-accurate, dual-stream video and audio onto CF cards in independent left and right "eyes." The resulting dual-stream synchronized playback can provide a host of advantages in post-production, including side-by-side monitoring and L/R image flip.
Just like the nanoFlash, the nano3D uses your camcorder's SDI or HDMI port to bypass the native codec in favor of a full-raster XDCAM codec, which comes in a wide range of bitrates and formats. This not only increases the quality of recording--and allows you to record the same codec across different manufacturers' product lines--but effectively extends your camera's lifespan. At the same time, the high-bitrate, 4:2:2 video can more easily withstand the cropping and scaling rigors of post-production.
As a time-tested, mature, and future-proof recording solution, the nano3D takes full advantage of your camera's sensor and optics, vastly improving image quality, streamlining workflows, and simplifying archiving. Along with an AC power supply, this bundle includes a hotshoe ball mount for mounting the nano3D to the top of your camera, a CompactFlash card reader, and three power and I/O cables. 3D production and post-production are now easier than ever!
Record video at significantly higher bitrates and color (4:2:2), producing far better quality.
Make your footage acceptable to major networks. For example, the BBC requires minimum 50Mbps (Long-GOP) in 4:2:2.
