Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine 221 221K Ready To Sew Super Condition
Strong 0.4 amp Motor, made in Canada, RUNS ON CANADIAN & US ELECTRICAL CURRENT. Model Sewing Machine 221K Serial # EM020420 which indicates manufactured Jan. 8 1957 in Kilbowie Scotland. It has a 5 & 1/2 inch bed extension, & the total machine is 15 & 1/4 inches long when the extension is down. It is smooth running and sews forward & in reverse perfectly. Same as 222K except for removable base & feed dog lowering capability. Cosmetically machine is in EXCELLENT condition. Base has light pin scratches on the base work area. The gold decals are BEAUTIFUL, NO WEAR. The Singer emblem is perfect. The balance wheel has several tiny digs around the edge. The light works. The faceplate is in excellent condition.
The Spool Pin & bobbin winder are solid.
There are 6 attachments, ruffler, adjustable hemmer, foot hemmer, edge stitcher, gatherer foot, multi-slotted binder, small screwdriver, large screwdriver, 3 needles, & 2 extra bobbins.
Original Singer 221-1 instruction manual in excellent condition.
Original tube of Singer motor lubricant in box.
Also included is a Buttonholer in original GREEN case with letter size copy of manual & 5 templates in good condition.
Includes the Black Carrying Case, with a side accessory tray & an oil can clip & clip under the cover to store the foot controller. The case is in excellent solid condition with some minor scuffs from normal use. The latches work smoothly & hinges are solid. There is one key & both locks work.
The foot controller # 194584 is in very good condition. The attached wires & plugs are in excellent condition. Operates properly at variable speeds.
The underside of the machine, all gears, BOBBIN CASE, bobbin, belt, etc., are complete and in very good condition. The rubber corner cushions are NEW.
The Machine has been cleaned and lubricated.
AN OVERALL SOLID COLLECTABLE MACHINE THAT WORKS GREAT. AN EXCELLENT STARTER MACHINE FOR A STUDENT.
This is a one owner machine purchased June 26-1959. The original cash receipt, Singer Guarantee, serial number tag, and Conditional Sales Contract are included. The owner told me the machine was used little since she bought it 50 years ago as is indicated by its condition. Noticeably the motor runs very strong & fast.
