Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine 221 Ready To Sew Canada
Strong 0.4 amp Motor, made in Canada, RUNS ON CANADIAN & US ELECTRICAL CURRENT. Model Sewing Machine 221 Serial # AH206037 which indicates manufactured in 1947 in Elizabethport New Jersey, USA. It has a 5 & 1/2 inch bed extension, & the total machine is 15 & 1/4 inches long when the extension is down. It is smooth running and sews forward & in reverse perfectly. Cosmetically machine is in POOR condition. Area around the base has been repainted. The gold decals are worn on the front work edge and dull elsewhere. The Singer emblem is perfect. The balance wheel has small digs around the edge. The light works. The faceplate is in excellent condition. The Spool Pin & bobbin winder are solid. There are 4 attachments, adjustable hemmer, foot hemmer, binder foot, seam guide, small screwdriver, 3 needles, & 3 extra bobbins. There is a nice 56 page letter size copy of the original instruction manual enhanced with many additional tips.
Includes the Black Carrying Case, with a top accessory tray & an oil can clip. The case is in solid condition with some scuffs & blemishes. The latches work smoothly & hinges are solid. There is no key.
The foot controller # 194584 is in very good condition. The attached wires & plugs are NEW. Operates properly at variable speeds.
The underside of the machine, all gears, BOBBIN CASE, bobbin, belt, etc., are complete and in good condition. The rubber corner cushions are slightly flattened but are solid. The Machine has been cleaned and lubricated. AN OVERALL MECHANICALY SOLID COLLECTABLE MACHINE NOT PERFECT COSMETICALLY THAT WORKS GREAT. AN EXCELLENT STARTER MACHINE FOR A STUDENT.
