Very Rare Ukrainian Embroidered  Homewoven SOROCHKA late XIX century      Sorochka  - the main item of Ukrainian national costume      The basis of Ukrainian female costume is a shirt - Koszul, sorochka. It is longer than the male and consists of two parts - the lower part (pidtichka) sewn from coarser material.    Sorochka  - one of the oldest items of clothing. According to the Kievan Rus shirt served as a underclothes, and outerwear and sewn with canvas or cloth. Ukrainian shirt late XIX - early XX century. had a lot of options and cutting ornamentation and meet multiple purposes.This colorfully decorated festive and more tolerant stubble and casual shirts, etc. which were made of cloth of varying quality.    Sewed shirts with collars or without them. The last type of shirt - the most ancient - the collar of such shirts are usually met in small assemblies and sometimes sewed on top.    In Ukraine, you can draw a line (loosely - on the Dnieper) between the two types of shirts: in the eastern regions wore shirts without a collar, in the west - with a collar.      The amount of details, the number of panels mill depend on the width of homemade cloth (average 50 cm), which determined the possibilities loom. Local area originality shirt provided and ornamentation, which carried weaving or embroidery technique ..    Wife was traditionaly to ensure her husband and other family members whiteness. It is very rare item - one of the two shirts the owner was transferred to Dnipropetrovsk Historical Museum Yavornyts'kogo - one of the largest museums in Ukraine in 60s of  XXcent.  It is 100% natural item , even button was maiden and polished from fluvial shell.  Hand embroidered sleeves in ukrainian national ornaments.  Excellent preservation - please look at the pictures.
