Imperial Russian Very Rare TABLE MEDAL - Central Asian exhibition in Moscow 1891- Graver Griliches (son).  Bronze. Diameter 40 mm. Condition VF-XF   Samarkand under the walls of the Kremlin Exhibitions of the XIX century as a unique tool for rapprochement between the two civilizations - Russian and Central Asian It all started in July 1864, when troops of General MG Chernyaeva attack took Tashkent. In 1873, hostilities ceased and the land was "totally dying," and not just by force of arms but by politics and the moral authority of the Russian authorities, who managed to find common ground with all sectors of medieval society conquered khanate. The first Governor-General of Turkestan, KP Von Kaufman pointed out that the basis of actions and orders of the Russian administration, must be the study of the life of the local population, its ethnographic characteristics, household and legal customs, language and religious beliefs.
