Band from John Hartford's AERO-PLANE

Price:  $14.99
Description:
Issued by Strictly Country Records (2002)
This is a rare 1971 album from Paul Craft who went on to a successful Nashville career penning hits such as "Keep Me From Blowing Away" for Linda Ronstadt, "Come As You Were" for T. Graham Brown, "It's Me Again, Margaret" for Ray Stevens, "Brother Jukebox" for Mark Chesnutt, and "Dropkick Me, Jesus (Through the Goalposts of Life)" for Bobby Bare. This project was a fortuitous collaboration with a group of star sidemen who, at the time, had just finished recording what was to become a landmark album of progressive folk and newgrass - John Hartford's Steam Powered Aero-Plane . In addition to Hartford are guitarist Norman Blake, dobro master Tut Taylor, and fiddler Vassar Clements. Also participating are Mike Auldridge on dobro and Ben Eldridge on banjo. It's a combination of world-class picking with the early catalog of a songwriter on the brink of a brilliant career. RAISED BY THE RAILROAD LINE
