Good condition Vintage Walden 1016 "TeeFlex" 1/2 universal socket wrench stamped "TeeFlex" and "Trademark Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." on the shank,
along with "Walden Worcester", "Made in U.S.A.",
and a "Pat. Oct. 22, 1918" patent notice.
length is 12.8 inches,
and the finish is nickel plating The patent date refers to the Bellows 1918 patent
frequently noted on early Walden tools.
The patent describes a method of crimping a socket onto a rod-shaped
handle.A popular variation on the Tee-handle socket wrench was the addition of a
universal joint,
to allow access in places where a straight wrench wouldn't fit.
Walden offered a number of universal socket wrench models and coined the
term "TeeFlex" for the product line,
which was registered as a trademark in 1920.Some minor rust great for the collector.
