* Bottom of plate is marked in French: "L' ARRIVEE DES MOISSONN EURS DAMS LES MARRIS PONTINS" Translated to English means "Summer Reapers Arriving in the Pontine Marshes"
* Pontine Marshes is an area South of Rome
*This plate is a copy of the original painting done by Louis Leopold Robert, a Swiss painter 1794-1855
* The originial painting was completed in 1831
* this plate is circa 1900-1940
*measures 9 5/8 inches across
* weighs 1 lb
* Wear to gold accents as age appropriate
* no chips or cracks ...dark spot under glaze on top left front
* marked on back as shown...looks like Royal Crown Bavaria? .....Marked is smudged
