Being offered for sale is this Fancy Early Victorian Carved Walnut Settee with Magnificent Carved Grapes circa 1865. This splendid 19th century settee features fabulous detailed carving of grapes & leaves on the triple serpentine crest-rail with highly carved arm supports and a triple serpentine seat-rail with a cluster of grapes at the center with brass casters intact on the feet.

This settee measures 40 3/4 inches high from the floor to the top of the back center,with a total length of 66 1/2 inches, seat width of 47 inches and seat depth of 19 inches with a seat height to the floor of 17 inches and this settee weighs approximately 75 lbs.

Vintage sage green velvet fabric is in wonderful vintage condition with no tears or rips but could use a gentle cleaning here and there. There is an old repair to the right back crest-rail which I have shown in a close up picture and an age shrinkage crack on one side below the fabric that appears to have been there for a while. We believe this settee to have its old original finish with deep rich patina on the walnut wood. A sweet early settee that still has a beautiful presence even with it being approximately 145 years old and would be a fine addition to a Victorian decor.
