Being offered for sale is this Beautiful Victorian Eastlake Walnut & Burl Walnut 2 pc Bedroom Set with Chocolate Marble circa 1880's. This lovely 19th century bedroom set features gorgeous raised panels of burl walnut, incised carvings, rosettes and fine geometric carvings one expects in the Victorian Eastlake era. We believe this dresser to have its original wide beveled mirror, original brass pulls and the original beveled edge chocolate marble.
The bed measures 5' 9 1/2 inches high at the head-board, 34 inches high at the foot-board, with an outside width of 61 inches and outside length of 76 inches. The inside mattress area measures 54 1/2 inches wide by 76 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their mattress set to assure proper fit. The approximate weight of this bed is 120 lbs.
The dresser measures 84 inches in height to the top of the carvings on the mirror,30 inches in height to the top of the marble base, 46 inches wide, depth of the base is 20 1/2 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 200 lbs. The mirror, marble and base does separate to allow for easier handling during shipping. The wide beveled mirror measures 31 1/2 inches high by 33 1/4 inches wide.
The head-board of the bed has been shortened at some point in time and done very well. The marble has no breaks or chips and is in wonderful antique condition. We believe the fancy brass pulls on the drawers to also be original, also all the locks are intact on the drawers but we do not have they key. The mirror is nice and clean with no apologies there.The bed sets up solid and tight as well as the dresser. A beautiful 19th century set thats ready to take its place in your home.
