Being presented for sale is this this Fine Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut and Burl Walnut Library Table with Drawer and working lock with the key circa 1875. The carvings and details on this piece are beautiful and typical of this period of design. This splendid library table measures 30 inches in height,36 inches wide and 22 inches deep and weighs approximately 60 lbs. Vintage replacement felt is on the writing surface top that most likely was a bright red and has faded to a sweet rose color . The turtle shaped top rests on a wide walnut conforming apron with a large drawer at the front which has raised panels of burl walnut and a fantastic fancy carved key escutcheon with the working lock and key and period dove-tailed ends on the drawer. This table is raised up on four fluted carved legs with a fancy H type fluted stretcher with lovely carved rosettes on the stretcher ends and the block accents at the feet., and has what we believe to be the original casters intact on all four feet. This lovely Victorian library table is very solid and sturdy and would make a great addition to about any room of your home as a lovely side table, lamp table or writing desk.
