Being offered for sale is this Grand Victorian Bonnet Top Walnut Pier Mirror with Acanthus Carvings & Paw Feet circa 1880.This beautiful 19th century pier mirror features a gorgeous bonnet top with dropped scroll carvings flanked with acanthus carved support arms with half columns flanking the length of the mirror with carved scroll resin designs above and below the columns. Wide ribbon trim encases both original beveled mirrors with a shaped shelf at the base and carved paw front feet.

This fine 19th century pier mirror measures a total height of 91 inches (7 ft 7 inches) from the floor to the very top,a total width of 34 inches with a total depth at the base of 14 inches and this pier mirror weighs approximately 85 lbs. The original beveled mirror at the top measures 59 1/2 inches high by 19 1/2 inches wide and the original beveled mirror at the base measures 19 1/4 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches high.

This grand pier mirror has a stunning presence and has all the elegance and splendor one expects from pieces of the Victorian era. The original mirrors do show cloudiness and streaking that is common in old mirrors...but I also have to say the cloudiness and streaking looks much worse in the bright sunlight in the pictures than they appear when the mirror is inside. This lovely Victorian pier mirror is in excellent antique condition, solid and tight and still retains its old wood backing. A wonderful Victorian pier mirror that no true Victorian Home should be without.
