    Being presented for sale is this 19th century Victorian Large Oval Burl Walnut & Ebony Shadow Box Frame with a handmade mourning wreath of intricate red, white and blue wool flowers. We believe this frame to be all original with the original wavy glass, gold gilt liner and old backing.

   This frame measures 20 inches wide by 23 inches high with the glass portion measuring 13 1/4 inches wide by 16 inches high and this frame weighs 8 lbs. The total depth of the frame is 4 1/2 inches (this includes the shadow box portion that protrudes at the back) the frame itself measures a depth of 2 inches, and the old wire for hanging is still intact.This is a gorgeous frame, one of the prettiest shadow box frames I have had the pleasure of obtaining in years. The reflections in the glass make this difficult to really capture the beauty of this fine piece of Victorian artwork....just incredible detail in the flowers carefully woven on a thin wire frame, done in patriotic colors of red, white and blue and placed on a dark fabric background.
