Description: It is an original antique copper etching by Allain Manesson Mallet from his work Travaux de Mars ou la Fortification Nouvelle, 1672. The print is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. It is a very nice dark impression on a bright clean page. A lot of detail for such a small print showing a fortified town, below which is a diagram of battlements with a battery of troops with siege equipment, an encampment and at the bottom what looks like some kind of fencing practice or running the gauntlet. It is a real beautiful print, they don't get much better!
Size: The print image measures approximately 3 3/4 by 5 1/2 inches on a 4 1/2 by 7 3/4" page as seen in the pic.
Condition: The print is in Very Good condition for its age with a slight darkening around the edges. The binding side is a little ragged as seen in the pic, but the print is a nice bold impression on quality paper, blank on the reverse that will frame up nicely with an antique appearance as desired. The pics are very accurately of the actual condition.
