Description: It is an original antique steel engraved plate or sheet of historical views over 160 years old. It was published in an 1849 edition of the Bilder Atlas zum Conversation-Lexicon (Leipzig: Brodhaus, 1849). Included is a facsimile copy of the title page with date for authenticity. These plates were designed under the direction of Johann Georg Heck as stated on the title page. The sheet is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. Nice rich tone with detailed engraved cross hatching!
Size: The image area measures approximately 8 by 10 inches on a 9 1/4 by 11 1/2" (235x295mm) page with a margin all around as seen in the pic.
Condition: The print is in Good condition for its age, blank on the reverse, basically as seen in the pic. There is some light smudging around the margins, otherwise it is very clean, see the pic for more on condition. It is a very nice strong rich impression that would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual sheet.
