Description: It is an authentic antique steel engraved book plate print on paper over 135 years old. It is from the German Bilder Atlas, considered the most extensive lexicon of natural and scientific images of the 19th century, published in Leipzig by Brockhaus, 1874. A facsimile copy of the title page is included. It is being sold as a single sheet from the Atlas, not matted nor framed, as seen in the pic. A great example of German 19th century science illustration!
Size: The image area measures approximately 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches (22x30cm) on a 10 1/2 by 13" (27x34cm) page with a margin all around as seen in the pic.
Condition: The print is in Very Good condition for its age, blank on the reverse, printed on strong papaer. There are a couple of minor handling smudges in the margin and a few small specks, otherwise it is very clean in general. It is basically as shown in the pic, see the large detailed pic for closer inspection of condition. Oveall, a very nice antique print that would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual print.
