Description: It is an original engraved print in great shape with a dark impression on a bright cotton page. It is from the Johan Nieuhoff's Die Gesantschaft der Ost-Indischen Geselshaft..., published in Amsterdam, 1669. Nieuhoff traveled with a Dutch ambassadorial mission to Peking and recorded many of the towns, life and nature of Chinese culture which were published in this account. This is very rare and beautiful print!
Size: The image measures approximately 4 by 6 inches on a 8 by 10" page with a margin all around for matting.
Condition: It is in Good condition for its age printed on a bright cotton page with a very nice strong and even impression with text. There is some edge wear as seen in the pics. Other than some light smudges and backprinting, the print image area is very clean and would frame up well.. Overall, it is a beautiful print in great condition that will frame up nicely. Disregard the pinkish tint of some of the pics.
