Description: It is an original engraved antique map in great shape with original handcoloring. It has a copyright on the map of 1833 and is from an 1844 edition of the atlas Maps of the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge, published London: Chapman and Hall, 1844. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK) name appears in the title block. The society was formed in 1826 and committed to the publication of the most upto date scientific findings for the dispersion of knowledge to the general public. It is hand numbered in India Ink in the corner. The maps are some of the most detailed English Maps of the period. Overall, a Beautiful Map that will frame up nicely.
Size: The map image measures approximately 11 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches on a 13 1/2 by 16" page with a margin all around for framing.
Condition: The map is in Very Good condition with overall tonal ageing with a slight darking around the edges. Other than some handling around the edges, the map is very clean with original handcoloring as issued, blank on the reverse. The pics show all and are of the actual map you are bidding.

Shipping: $5 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA and $5 by International Airmail to Canada. Elsewhere in the world add $7 for International Airmail. Insured Priority International mail is $20. Please note these rates are very close to actual postage rates. No additional postage on multiple maps shipped together with the first, we are glad to ship as many maps as you want for one $5 or $7 shipping fee depending on the largest map. Insurance rates: We recommended and offer optional low insurance of $2.00 for up to $100 of value and $3 up to $200, $4 up to $300, etc. We reserve the right to require insurance on orders of high value. International registration with insurance is an additional $8.00. Insurance is encouraged: without it we will not be responsible once item is shipped.
