Description:

Ijin Tachi to no Natsu - An old fashioned ghost story from Japan now.

Divorced TV screen writer Hidemi Harada lives alone. One night, he meets the spirits of his parents who died in an accident 28 years ago. Feeling relaxed, rather than terrified, Harada visits them often. But Harada becomes increasingly agitated about the unreality of the visits with his parents, and he begins to notice that his face is becoming zombie-like. Dark rings under the eyes, a whitish tone to his skin, and a haggard look.

He becomes weaker by the day, and his new girlfriend, Kei, who's a little strange, and seems to have a past that should not be told, sees it too, and advises him to stop visiting the parents. She warns him that they are ghosts and they are feeding off his life force...

There are really two ghost stories at play here – one more traditional shock and scare, the other using ghosts as a metaphor for something else.....
