Although publicity photos from this film have been seen in books on horror films
for decades, few outside of Japan have ever seen the movie itself.
Extremely fun Daiei adaptation of two shojo horror manga into
a single, crazily FX-laden story about two rival, shape-shifting sisters who are
on less than good terms. However, when an evil creature makes an appearance they
have to overlook their differences and join forces to battle it. Lots of classic in-camera effects, double exposures, genuinely
excellent makeup, and crude but effective wriggly beast props.
