You are buying our #1 Quality Bison Leather in the amount, color and finish you need.  The price is $5.95 per square foot and the minimum amount you can order is 15 square feet.  If we can't come up with the exact square footage you order we will send you slightly more than what you have paid for.  For some of our selections we offer whole hides for others we offer 1/2 hides only, and some hides we offer both.  Whole hides will average around 35 - 40 square feet, 1/2 hides will average 15 - 20 square feet. These will all be #1 Quality hides, which means they have 95% or more usable leather.  However, it does not mean they are perfect, they can still have holes, scars, and defects in the grain of the hide.  Bison are wild animals and they tend to be hard on their hides and it is hard to get a truly perfect bison hide but these hides are our best quality.  North American Bison is a really nice leather, is has a very nice grain that makes it unique.  Bison leather is extremely tough and durable and has a very high tensile strength.  Bison leather is great for furniture, gloves, boots, vests, coats, chaps, moccasins, and for any application where a thick, strong leather is needed.  Leather thickness is measured in ounces and is most of our bison is around 5 oz., but it does vary, see our list of options below.  Bison hides have a lot of natural variation in the thickness of the leather, so it is normal if there is some variation in the thickness of the leather throughout the hide.  Please check out my other auctions for all types of leather, hair on hides and more.  I am happy to reduce your shipping costs for multiple items.

To keep the shipping simple, we will charge you $ .25 per square foot for the first 100 feet ordered and $ .20 for all square footage over 100.  Please calculate this and add to your payment.

Please specify the type of leather and the square footage you want from our list below.  If you don't see something you need, let us know we may have some other options that will work for you:

Natural, Naked Finish, Full Grain:  We have soft, natural, whole hides in these colors:  Saddle, Tobacco, Mocha, Black, Palomino, Sand and Cream.  These whole hides will average approximately 35 - 40 square feet but we do have them from 30 - 50 square feet.  We will have 1/2 hides in certain colors but please check with us before purchasing these hides in a 1/2 hide.  These hides will run 4 - 5 oz. in thickness on average - we can often select hides that are slightly thicker or thinner if you have a preference.  We also have 1/2 hides in this finish in a Navy Blue color.

Distressed Brown:  These hides have a unique finish with a distressed look that brings out the grain in the bison.  These hides are thinner that the rest of our bison hides at a 3.5 ounce thickness. These hides have a light finish on them.  This Distressed Brown leather is easy to work with and looks great.  These hides are available in 1/2 hides only, from 15 - 20 square feet.

Heavy, Shrunken Grain Black, 8 - 10 oz.  This is a very unique leather.  It is a very thick at 8 - 10 ounces in weight and this leather was tanned for a Shrunken Grain effect.  The grain on these Black hides are incredible.  These hides are 1/2 hides only that will run 15 - 20 square feet.

Antique Finished Hides  These are hides that are tanned with a waxy, vintage distressed finished.  We have Tan and Mocha in full hides and we have Olive, Antique Whiskey, Antique Brown and Antique Black in 1/2 hides.  These hides will be 4 to 5 ounces.

Nubuck Finished Hides  These hides have a very interesting nubuck finish that gives them a soft feel and unique look.  We have Nubuck Brown and Nubuck Black available in this finish and these hides will be 4 - 5 ounces.  This is one of our most popular bison leathers.  These hides are available in 1/2 hides only.
