In 1884 Pierre Thiers, master cutler and razor maker, founded the firm of Thiers-Issard, at that time purchasing the '****  Sabatier' trademark from Gabriel Sabatier, who had registered it in 1860.  This line of products are made using the most superior designs and methods, the most intricate attention is given to the final polishing,hand-sharpening and final inspection processes. The results  speak for themselves - each of these boxed sets is intended to be an enduring and lasting item and, for that reason, they make the perfect gift for weddings, anniversaries, retirements and  any occasion where a lasting and beautiful memento is desired. Details in the handle displays a single-piece forged bolster with one-piece full-length tang, upon which the handles are solidly riveted for a lifetime's use. All pieces are hand-crafted and finished to a very high degree of workmanship.
