Fantastic Hand Made Fireplace Tile -Dated-York, England This wonderful fireplace tile measures 6.25" by 6.25" in it's frame.  It is hand made and boasts a signature of " Dami, 6 / 17 OR . . . Dam 1617".  The background is a creamy soft white with all the design being done in a soft plum.  The scene shows a child reading while surrounded by what appears to be lion or two and two lambs  . . . As you can see from the pictures,  the label hand written on the back reads:  "Tile from fireplace of old house in York, England".  Condition:  Unfortunately there are three major cracks running along the right hand side as well as into each other.   I know condition is always a first but this piece is special regardless.   Please see my close-ups for a better idea.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me prior to auctions end.
