Item is the 1980 Ford LTD sedan/wagon new vehicle brochure - 2nd printing. Billed by the automaker that it "Rides as quiet as a Rolls-Royce" on the front cover of the brochure, Ford was pulling no punches with its promotion of its flagship vehicle for its Ford-brand.
(Notice that this revised front cover DOESN'T have a Rolls-Royce parked next to the LTD -- I guess the Brits didn't really go for the visual comparison of their high-brow saloon with what is essentially a mass-market sedan.)
Now, to remind those of us that were old enough to remember when this car was new -- and to clarify some Ford history for those who are not -- notice that this car is called an LTD. The Crown Victoria nameplate was actually a trim-level within the full-size, body-on-frame car line in 1980.
By the mid-1980's, Ford shuffled names around -- the LTD of the mid-1980's was actually pinned on a Fairmont-derived midsize car, while the full-size sedan became the LTD Crown Victoria. (by the early 1990's Ford wised up and it became just the Crown Victoria).
This 16-page brochure is both colorful and informative. The condition of the booklet is very good.
