Item is the 1981 Ford Thunderbird 2-door hardtop new vehicle brochure. Offering a model that is more in-line with the luxury oriented T-Birds of the early 1960's, Ford opted for looks over performance with this one. The Thunderbird of 1981 shared much of its running gear and platform with the workhorse of the Ford fleet -- which was launched with the pedestrian Ford Fairmont sedan in 1978.
However, the brochure itself is an attractive presentation as the automaker attempts to make the best of a bad situation. Short and sweet, this 15-page brochure includes the vital statistics, features, dimensions and specifications on pages 12-13.
The overall condition of this 26 year old brochure is very good.
