Item is the 1912 Price List of Parts for the Chevrolet “Little Six” and “Light Six”.  For the record, yes you read right that this 5 ¼ x 8 inch, 84-page price book was issued by the Chevrolet Motor Company of Detroit, Michigan.

What you may not have known is that Chevrolet Motor was not part of General Motors when GM started. GM in fact had gone broke within a couple of years of its founding in 1909. While the bankers bailed out the company, the kicked out the founder. As a result, the founder (William C. Durant) teamed with the DuPont family of chemical (and gunpowder) fame and a French race car driver of the day named Louis Chevrolet.

In 1915, Durant had enough common stock of GM to take back over the company and merge Chevrolet into what became the General Motors Corporation.

I cannot vouch that these booklets are originals or reprints (although I have tried). The relative overall good condition of these booklets suggest that they are indeed less than 100 years old, but by how much, I have no idea.

In any case, this booklet would make for a good conversation piece for the hardcore Chevrolet document collector.
