This manual provides information on diagnosis, chassis service procedures, adjustments and specifications for the 1979 Oldsmobiles. Diagnosis of all units and systems are alphabetically listed under DIAGNOSIS in the yellow pages at the back of this manual.
This is NOT the 1979 Body Service Manual which contains body service information on all series and models used in 1979. The 1979 Oldsmobiles contain many parts dimensioned in the metric system as well as in the customary system. Many fasteners are metric and are very close in dimension to familiar customary fasteners in the inch system.
The nine sections consist of: General Information; Heater & Air Conditioner; Frame, Body, Sheet Metal & Grille; Steering, Suspension, Wheels & Tires; Propeller Shaft, Rear Axle, Final Drive and Drive Axles; Brakes; Engine Systems; Transmission & Clutch; Electrical Instrument Panel; and Accessories.
There is a 10th Chapter on Metric Information.
While the condition of this manual is good, the several sections at the front of the book has been subjected to moisture at some point - although the pages are still very usable.
