This is the 1982 Ford Body/Chassis Features Car & Light Truck manual. This 26-page manual contains an explanation of the new Body & Chassis features for 1982 Ford Motor Company cars and light trucks. This manual is designed to build upon the service technician’s knowledge of service procedures on previous model components. When a totally new component or design concept is presented, detailed servicing information is given. However, the procedures may not include some of the more common service procedures, nor those which have not changed from previous car and light truck models.
PLEASE NOTE: This manual DOES NOT include information for the 1982 Lincoln Continental.
This manual DOES NOT replace the regular Shop Manual(s) for the more detailed step-by-step instructions and specifications.
Car components featured include: Window glass, rear door and window mechanism; traction-lok limited slip differential; and integral carrier bearing shim selection.
Light Truck components include: automatic locking hubs (Bronco, F-150-F-350 (4x4)); steering column (E-100 – E-350); stamped I-beam front axles (F-100 – F350 (4x2)); Dana axles; Seats (E-100-E-350) – bucket seat and track installation.
