To learn, clean, repair and reuse automatic transmission valve bodies, converters and pumps; to identify causes of transmission malfunction which can give false indications of valve body malfunctions; to determine by testing whether a valve body is actual malfunctioning; to determine by inspection that a valve body is reusable; to identify conditions which require disassembly and cleaning of the valve body; disassemble, inspect, clean and correctly assemble a valve body; remove burrs and light scoring from valve body parts without destroying their reusability; to check converters for serviceability and determine from checks whether the converter is reusable; to clean the converter thoroughly for reuse after it has operated with contaminated fluid; to clean the cooler system to flush out fluid contaminants; to disassemble and thoroughly clean the pump; to determine from inspection and clearance check if the pump is reusable; to perform the clearance check of the pump gears and interpret the results; and to replace the serviceable parts of the front pump assembly as required.
