To isolate a cause of trouble in the charging system through use of the recommended diagnostic procedures and the furnished diagnostic charts; to identify the components of the charging system; to understand the difference between the three voltage regulators in use; to perform a systematic visual inspection of the charging system; to correctly connect the recommended test equipment; to OK or NOT OK a component of the charging system as a result of a test; to perform the Alternator Output Test, the Voltage Limiter Test and the Field Relay Test on the charging system, regardless of the differences in components; and to follow the diagnostic charges as the charging system is tested.
