To leanr how to use the Wiring Diagrams book and other service publications to quickly locate and correct troubles in electrical systems; to know how to systematically trouble-shoot electrical system problems for positive, accurage correction of the problem causes; to be able to avoid time-consuming dismantling and unneeded tests by thinking out the test avenues available, and using the easiest, shortest route to finding the trouble; to know how to identify certain troubles such as poor connections through visual inspections; to be able to verify failures of some components by substitution testing; to be able to perform and interpret test for power, continuity and shorts; to be able to locate components of the electrical system on the wiring diagram, and trace the "hot" wire back to the source or common point; to be able to identify connectors and terminal points in the car so as to make appropriate electrical tests; and to know how to trouble-shoot for a specific complaint, isloating the cause and making the correction quickly and accurately.
