Thurber (1894-1961) was also an artist who cedlebrateed dogs in many of
his inimitatable drawings and cartoons.
Thurber was born and educated in Columbus Ohio, and worked as a
newspaper man before joing the staff of The New Yorker magazine in 1927.m
His short stories, essays, fables, and drawings have been collected on
over 30 books.
