  • What is Vendio Checkout and what does it do for me?
Vendio Checkout provides your winning bidders with an immediate way to access our fast and efficient checkout process. Rather than waiting for WBNs to arrive in the mail, your buyers can proceed directly to your preferred checkout system from within the item listing as soon as your auction closes, and you can process their orders without further delay.

Click the link to view an example of what Vendio Checkout looks like in a listing.

In addition, even if you do not choose to use the Vendio Checkout button in your listing, you can now provide your buyers with a simple url when they ask where to go to complete their orders: use the Vendio Checkout entry page (http://www.vendio.com/checkout.x). Here, buyers can proceed to the checkout for their item after verifying their identity and relevant details about the auction.

  • I’ve been using Vendio Winning Bidder Notifications (WBNs), what’s changed now?
You can still continue to use all Vendio WBNs (both auto-WBN and those that you manually send): the Vendio Checkout button takes buyers to the same checkout pages as the link inside the WBN. The default text for WBNs has been modified slightly to clarify to your buyers that they are using Vendio Checkout when they click the link inside the WBN.

In addition, the Post-Sale Management steps that previously referred to “WBN Response” have been re-labeled to refer to “Checkout” instead. This is a more accurate description of what buyers are doing in this step.

  • How do I get buyers who go through eBay/PayPal checkout to use Vendio Checkout?
If you have a PayPal Premier or Business Account, you can set your Payment Receiving Preferences on PayPal to "Block Payments from users who initiate payments from the Send Money tab". By setting this preference, you can direct any buyers who try to pay directly via PayPal checkout to use your preferred Vendio Checkout instead. Simply put the following URL in the "Alternate Payment URL" box:

    http://www.vendio.com/checkout.x

  • How does Vendio Checkout work for auction listings?
Once you choose to include the Vendio Checkout button in an auction listing, the button and some explanatory text are inserted into the Item Description area as soon as the listing is launched. You can use "Preview" during the editing process to see how they will look in the listing.

For eBay and eBay Motors auctions only, the Vendio Checkout button can also be displayed on an additional panel that appears in your listings as soon as your auction closes. This panel serves to further remind your winning bidders to use your preferred checkout method, Vendio Checkout. In your post-sales management preferences, you can choose to display this panel and have it slide in from the right on your closed listings, or it can just appear at the top of your item description. Note also that this panel is of a fixed-size, so it will appear less intrusive to users with higher screen-resolution display settings.

When buyers click on the Vendio Checkout button, they will be directed to a confirmation page to verify their identity as the authorized buyers for their items. Once verified, they are presented with your checkout page, where they can select shipping and payment options, confirm their order and complete their purchase.

  • How does Vendio Checkout work for fixed-price listings?
Once you choose to include the Vendio Checkout button into a fixed-price listing, the button and some explanatory text are inserted into the Item Description area as soon as the listing is launched. You can use "Preview" during the editing process to see how they will look in the listing.

For eBay and eBay Motors auctions only, the Vendio Checkout button can also be displayed on an additional panel that appears in your fixed-price, single-quantity listings once the item is purchased. This panel serves to further remind your winning bidders to use your preferred checkout method, Vendio Checkout. In your post-sales management preferences, you can choose to not display this panel at all, or have it slide in from the right or appear only at the top of your item description. The panel does not support fixed-price, multiple-quantity listings.

When buyers click on the Vendio Checkout button, they will be directed to a confirmation page to verify their identity as the authorized buyers for their items. Once verified, they are presented with your checkout page, where they can select shipping and payment options, confirm their order and complete their purchase.

  • How do I turn on Vendio Checkout?
Vendio Checkout will be turned on by default if you use Vendio's post-sales management tools (such as Auto-WBN). You can turn the button on or off for specific listings during the create and edit listing process by checking the box for "Include the Vendio Checkout button in this listing".

Also, in your post-sales management preferences page, you can choose to automatically include the Vendio Checkout button for all your auction listings by checking the box for "Include the Vendio Checkout button in my auction listings by default". In this preferences page, you can also choose what style of panel you would like to use for your eBay and eBay Motors auctions.

  • Do I need to use WBNs when I use Vendio Checkout? or Do I need to use Vendio Checkout when I use WBNs?
The Vendio Checkout button can be used with or without Winning Bidder Notifications (WBNs), and vice-versa. During the create and edit listing process, you can independently choose whether a listing will include the Vendio Checkout button or whether a WBN will be sent automatically once it closes with a winner.

We recommend you use the Vendio Checkout button and WBNs in tandem, to give your buyers more opportunities to use your preferred checkout method. After a buyer completes checkout for an item through either means, the Vendio Checkout button and the link at the bottom of their WBN will simply take them to the Order Confirmation page that appeared at the end of their checkout process.

  • How can I make sure all my winning bidders use Vendio Checkout?
Although there is no way to ensure that all of your buyers will use Vendio Checkout, you can make sure to catch as many of them as possible by doing the following:

    • In your communications with buyers, direct them to the Vendio Checkout entry page (http://www.vendio.com/checkout.x). Here, they can proceed to the checkout for their item after verifying their identity and relevant details about the auction.
    • If you have a PayPal Premier or Business Account, you can set your Payment Receiving Preferences on PayPal to "Block Payments from users who initiate payments from the Send Money tab". By setting this preference, you can direct any buyers who try to pay directly via PayPal checkout to use your preferred Vendio Checkout instead. Simply put the following URL in the "Alternate Payment URL" box:

      http://www.vendio.com/checkout.x

    • Be sure to turn on WBNs when creating a listing (for more information, please see the Post Sale Summary FAQ), and be sure to include the Vendio Checkout Button in all your listings (see "How do I turn on Vendio Checkout?" above.)

  • How does Vendio Checkout work with existing inventory items?
If you have not yet made any explicit selections for Vendio Checkout in your Post-Sale Management preferences, the Vendio Checkout button will be included in your existing inventory items if and only if you have "Automatically send WBN when auction closes with a valid winner" selected in your Post-Sale Management preferences at the time that you edit or launch the inventory item. This is because we recommend that you use the Vendio Checkout button and WBNs in tandem, to give your buyers more opportunities to use your preferred checkout method. After a buyer completes checkout for an item through either means, the Vendio Checkout button and the link at the bottom of their WBN will simply take them to the Order Confirmation page that appeared at the end of their checkout process.

You can edit the inventory item to change the selection made for you for the Vendio Checkout button or you can go into your Post-Sale Management preferences and explicitly UNcheck the "Include the Vendio Checkout button by default" option in order to turn the button off in your existing inventory items.

  • What known issues have recently been resolved with Vendio Checkout?
In our latest update to the Vendio Checkout functionality, we have resolved the following known issues:

    • In fixed-price, sinqle-quantity listings, the preferred checkout panel now appears ONLY after the item has been purchased.
    • The inserted-at-the-top preferred checkout panel is now inserted correctly in all of our templates.
We thank you for your patience and continued support as we resolved these issues.
