jt...another scary thought...
What's the story on addressing a virile, charismatic lovable male such as krs as "Dear"...I have a headache." Maybe we should say a little prayer?

krs-No fair! You were a bit too subtle for me on your "He didn't say that"!
You made me go and get by Bible and give chapter and verse and all that stuff....I didn't snap to the fact you were just picking on an obvious typo...
Just wanted to add...bunnicula you are quick!

Now go look up the horse.
Leaving aside the irrelenant bible thumping and the seeming impossibility of committing adultry with an unmarried woman when not married yourself, the subject is loosely the maintenance of constitional rights even by prisoners convicted of heinious crime (should that be hiney-ous?).
Would there be an objection to a requirement that a prisoner incarcerated for non-violent or non-deviant crime divulge his every prior uncharged crime before allowing him an elevated status in the prison? Probably there would be.
Also, what standard is brought to bare in determining responsiveness to the various sorts of stimuli presented during these tests? Do they have a way to determine by angle or firmness whether a person is experiencing a safe level of arousal which may not indicate a propensity to repeated criminal activity? And who within the prison system, to use a bit of navy jargon, calls the ball?

krs-I agree with you completely. I don't think it is right, fair or even remotely "useful". I meant what I said in my earlier post. I think the person/s who invented this "gadget" are "perverted" themselves!
The fact that it is actually used is appalling IMHO!
I also think this man's "civil rights" are being abused.
I just wanted to add:
I personally know quite a few people who would like to see an amendment to the constitution that strips any person convicted of a crime after "due process" of any "civil rights". They contend it would be more of a deterrent than any other punishment. If you get convicted and sentenced to prison, you automatically forfiet all your rights while in prison!

And also, I wonder about the scientific validity of the results of this procedure. Generally sex therapy requires highly trained professionals to administer medication, interpret and follow the results of treatment very carefully. I doubt that the prison system has the qualified personel to manage any kind of sex therapy and certainly not the kind of nonsensical information provided by a peter meter.

What gets me is the so-called results extrapolated from an assinine test like this. Who's to say a man is a sexual predator because he gets an erection from having his genitals hooked to a machine? Maybe he's a masochist. Maybe an exhibitionist. Bah. It's stupid.

Believe it or not, there is. Johns Hopkins has a center known world wide for sex therapy. You will not find it in a prison, however.

Johns Hopkins is located in Baltimore, Maryland. One of my daughters went to school there.
You are right that not all rapists need sex therapy and not all rapists are mentally ill.
Why don't you back off.

This test is discriminatory, too.
According to the law, a woman having sex with an underage boy would be considered a rapist, also.

I'm noticing lately that many threads are deteriorating into a predictable pattern, with common denominators.
Will you all just claw each other's eyes out or whatever it is you do in cat fights and clear the air already?
It's too hot for this crap.

Why, Spaz...you surprise me. It's probably the same reason you big, strong, macho guys don't really go for it and eviscerate one another on the spot.

The catch for this guy lile is that if he passes the test and doesn't respond his girlfriend may not be interested in him anymore.
It's double jeopardy!!

Oh, I noticed, krs, but decided to let you have your little play on words despite the fact that you *should* have said Gene's name was "Adultry." His horse was named Champion--though we've no confirmation from any mares about that...it might be that like many males he was prone to exaggeration.

Ditto. There was a long time when I was so disgusted and revolted by the romantic experiences that I have had, I was intentionally celebate for many years. Upon learning of this fact, many women fought over me trying to get me into bed, instead of respecting my wishes. I was only further disgusted by it.
