Do you wear make-up?

Not at home, only when going out or when we're expecting visitors.

Do you wear more now that you're older, or less?. Until the age of 40 - 45, the only make-up I used was on my eyes. As I got older I started using a foundation. We live out in the country so I don't wear make-up as I can be outside and no one see's me.

Do you think women look better with make-up? It depends. Some women of any age have beautiful skin and have no need to cover anything up. Some, especially as one ages, have not-so-perfect skin. I think a light-applied foundation, powder and a very light-applied blush can do wonders for a woman's appearance.

When a woman is in a casual situation, usually (IMO) no make-up is necessary. But when in a situation where it is more formal, I think make-up gives a finishing touch look to how one appears.

The funniest is at company Christmas parties where the chicks are all made up like they're going to the Oscars. By the end of the night, they're all hammered and crying to "Lady In Red" or some other stupid song, and their mascara's dripping onto their new outfits.

My wife Carol, uses very little make up. At age 57, she turns the heads of many, both sexes & all age groups. She is one great lady.

Zazzie has posted from time to time and I've seen nobs just can't remember where!

Camouflage concealment by means of disguise/behavior or artifice designed to deceive or hide. Both can be ugly or downright funny...for example:

Wife goes to meet husband at military installation and has her young son in tow.
While waiting in an office area the young boy is enthralled with the appearance of a
young soldier in camouflage doing clerical work.
In a stage whisper (as children will do) he asks his Mom, "Who does he think he is hiding from, Mom?"

I do wear makeup but not a lot, and I wear it at home as well as when going out because I feel like I should look at least as good for my husband as I do for everyone else -- and makeup does help.

In high school, though, OMG! I wore tons of heavy makeup, especially around my eyes. I drew heavy black lines extending beyond my eyes and used bright blue eye shadow. I was so self-conscious without all the makeup that I wouldn't even walk to the mailbox without it. One day a friend and I walked home in the snow, at night, and her mom took one look at me and didn't say a word, but her expression said it all. I looked in the mirror and had huge black circles around my eyes from the streaked mascara!

No makeup here, I am allergic and every time I try, I break out.

Maybe once a week I will put on makeup. I sing with a quartet and when we have a performance I have to put makeup on. Otherwise forget it. Sometimes if I have it on to long my face will start to itch and I'll break out in a rash. Doesn't matter what brand or how expensive the stuff is.

Women wear makeup for other women and themselves more than for men.
I do not care for how it makes women look at all. If you asked most men you would be shocked would find how often that is true.
The really sad thing is when some teenage girl with a beautiful face and no need at all gets permission to do this "grown up" thing and covers her nice looks with the stupid mask. She might as well put on the veil. It is almost as stupid as smoking to look more mature.

No matter what you smear on it won't erase the stress and frown or cover the lack of sleep and unhappyness.
The best makeup is clean and happy but you won't see any advertising campaign for it soon.

Why women want to paint their mouth up like a gooses butt in poke berry season I'll never know. No I don't wear makeup.

LoL And the older the woman, the brighter the color until it reaches the iridescent range of red.

It's a sexual "flag". An Exaggeration/simulation the way lips redden & engorge during arousal. It could be worse--some species of monkeys & apes have a similar "flag" but it happens to be their butts.

HJW The problem with makeup is that what is intended as camouflage is so perfectly obvious.

What you see first is not beauty but makeup -and that is ugly.

Yes I agree! In addition, beauty may be skin deep but ugly is to the bone.

Now here's a stupid country song that's on the radio every 5 minutes:

Well, I was raised in a sophisticated kind of style
Yeah, my taste in music and women drove my folks half wild
Mom and dad had a plan for me, it was debutantes and symphonies
But I like my music, I like my women wild

CHORUS
Yeah, I like my women just a little on the trashy side
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed
Too much lipstick and too much rouge
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused
And I like my women just a little on the trashy side

Should've seen the looks on the faces of my dad and mom
When I showed up at the door with a date for the senior prom
They said, well, pardon us son, she ain't no kid
That's a cocktail waitress in a Dolly Parton wig
I said I know it dad, ain't she cool, that's the kind I dig

REPEAT CHORUS

I like 'em sweet, I like 'em with a heart of gold
Yeah and I like 'em brassy, I like 'em brazen and bold
Well, they say opposites attract, but I don't agree
I want a woman just as tacky as me
Yeah, I like my women just a little on the trashy side

REPEAT CHORUS

zilvy,

Seriously, I don't know how to articulate it. I just know what look I like and I think make-up's part of the mystique. I remember I saw Jessica Lange on TV once without makeup and every fantasy I ever had about her died on the spot. Just too plain jane.

I wear make-up. I am fair skinned and I know I look better with a bit of it on. It is an easy routine, less than five minutes. No bright colors though.

For me it is all part of feeling good about myself. It is the same about wearing nice clothes and jewelry each day--it makes me feel good.

Make-up isn't what makes a woman sexy or not though. It is all about how she feels about herself inside.

I watch my customers each day and also the people that go by on the street and I see women (and men) that don't seem to like themselves or even care about the way they look. Many of them look really unhappy.

And no matter what some guys say, every once in awhile I do think they kind of like their women on the trashy side. And as a woman I think it's kind of fun to look a bit trashy now and again.

I wear make-up pretty much every day - nothing too exotic though - a little under eye concealer (to hide those late night on ebay bags), powder, mascara, blush & lipstick or gloss. For those rare nights out I add a little liner and shadow.

I think pretty much every woman looks better with some make-up if it's applied properly. Most wear too much, the wrong colors and/or use too heavy a hand when applying it.
