Dan...

Reading these boards on the internet, it never ceases to amaze me what different individuals find offensive. For that, I am not sure there is ever going to be an amicable agreement.

(Thanks for teaching me how to do the above, Barry )

I think we're in perfect agreement there, Dan. I'm just venting...I haven't the slightest expectation anything will change...lol.

A snapshot of Femme on a recent motor jaunt.

Sure I want a ride, Femme. But I'm already booked for the weekend; in fact, taking off shortly, but let's work out a time.

Hi Hepburn! Have a great holiday!

Ghandi said - "Be the change you want to see"

You want people not to label people? Don't label people. You want people not to attack people? Don't attack people. You want more tolerance? Be more tolerant.

Instead of saying you want change, be change.

Yes, he was. But, before he was, he effected a great change, and far beyond the boundaries of his place and time.

gravid: I know that most people who post here seem to feel it has to be all or nothing - you are bigoted or not. ...How about you? If people will treat you OK for business but aren't ready to marry you is it a useless gesture?

NO, not a useless gesture. I think that it will be a long time before humanity is 100% color-blind, ethnicity-blind, religion-blind, etc. And in any case, people just usually aren't 100% anything. My uncle was a case in point. He and my aunt were very prejudiced & were incredibly upset to learn that a black family was moving into their neighborhood. But it was my uncle who, on seeing the new neighbor having trouble with a dead lawnmower, walked over & offered the loan of his & even told him that the mower was kept in an unlocked side yard & that he could help himself to it any time he wanted. And my aunt gave rides to the doctor when the wife was stricken with cancer & her husband had to take the car to work.

Benjamin Franklin had the right idea... Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.

It's worth a try, I'm thinkin.

Disagreeing without being disagreeable is becoming a lost art. I agree.

I really admire those who are able to debate a different point of view without insinuating the other person is (insert your insult here) because they think or see an issue differently.

"(insert your insult here)"

Drunk? Racist? Snooty? Bigotted? Rude? Intolerant? Disagreeable? Do I have to choose only one, or can I choose one from column A and one from column B?

I just love these threads.

What I really hate are people who make sweeping generalizations about whole groups of people. Those people are truly ignorant and should all be shot.

Ohhh Barry...

How could you say such a thing about Sweeping Generalists? They have a right to their feelings, too. I am deeply saddened. I truly and from the heart feel that I must (regretfully) say that I hate anybody who hates anybody.

Sorry.

Very true, but here in the RT we are sort of [insert here] blind.

Can you tell me:

1. What color I am?

2. My ethnic origin(s)

3. My Religion.

Heck, I'm not even sure who's a guy and who's a gal in this place in some cases.
