What a YUMMY thread!

Let's see, off the top of my head, some of my favs include:

Macadamia Nut Pie
Hula Pie
Mud Pie
Cream Puffs
Warm homemade fudge

Oh! And I just the other night made a batch of donuts for my poor deprived son... rolled them in cinnamon sugar... mmm mmm good! We don't have any donut shops here. Bakeries but no donut shops.

I really love a Japanese pastry called manju. Strangely enough, it is made with lima beans (but doesn't taste like them). I prefer the white bean filling over the red bean filling because it is smooth (red bean filling is "chunky". But it must be fresh or the outer layer gets tough, so I never buy the pre-packaged stuff. Little Tokyo in L.A. has a great Japanese bakery that sells it.

Right now I am devouring a treat I only allow myself about once a year (because of salt content): Chinese preserved plums/prunes called Li Hing Mui. They are preserved with salt, sugar & licorice and are totally addicting.

edited to include name of plum/prunes.

What do I do when there are no sweets in the house? A PB&J or a bowl of whatever sweet cereal the kitten favors for the week. If I must absolutely *have* to have a yummy, I open a tub of cake frosting and use crackers to dip out the frosting.

Granny Cat used to make a dessert she called "Cherry Delight" that I could eat right out of the pan(I would pause long enough to grab a spoon, though). Cracker crust, a layer of meringue, a can of cherry pie filling spread over the meringue, and a top layer of whipped cream. YUMMY!

Cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and NO fruit, chocolate anything, and ... (y'all are gonna think I'm crazy) ... that new Total cereal that's "brown sugar and oat" flavored. That stuff is GOOD!

And it's got vitamins in it, see, so I can eat a candy bar afterwards and the candy bar don't count! hee hee

gravid - I'm with ya about the freestone peaches.....HEAVENLY! And the smell of fresh peaches...Yum Yum Yummy!

Other favs:

Cheesecake from Junior's in Brooklyn.
Fresh doughnuts from just about anywhere!

I'm currently on this kick eating Zone Perfect Chocolate Mint Soy Protein Bars...They taste so incredible and are very nutrient dense with about 1/3 the grams of sugar that an ultra slimfast has. But the main thing is they taste soooooo good!
