Just watched a Bush/Chirac press conference.
Chirac- this is not a "war" on terrorism, but rather an action against. We stand with you in solidarity of our hearts.
Bush is being put into a position of eating his words. As more evidence comes to light, and more countries are implicated, the less, if anything we will be able to do.
It was reported that Iraq transferred nearly $5 million to bin Laden's network. France still trades with Iraq.
We will not be able to use force against any country when it is shown that they aided the terrorists. Holding Afghanistan responsible is becomming a straw man argument.
I heard the term "Carterized" used last night to describe Bush's prediciment, as in Jimmy Carter and his hostage crisis.

Look at it this way...good to know these things now. Could save us a lot of money, resources, and American lives down the road a piece.
As a country...we've been...shall we say...a bit naive?? A little profligate??
