Of course, you would know differently.

Anyone who can read, and bothers to do so, knows better.

Really? I know an awful lot of Christians who would differ with you on that point. In fact, whole congregations, churches, and sects point out that such doings are Satanic.

According to an awful lot of Christians, fairy tales are satanic, and reading Harry Potter will turn your child into a practicing witch....

krs: yes, indeed, I do own a mule. But then so do thousands of other people. This is apropos of....what?

How would a woman with a mule know that reading Harry Potter will NOT turn children into witches?

My, your wit is breathtaking. Perhaps if you ask her, the woman you quoted before will come up with a thought you can quote on the subject? So much easier than thinking for yourself...

yes we seem to be on an Indian Kick lately,
before laying everything that has happened to them on the feet of the whites it might be politically incorrect to say that they did on numerous occaisions murder the colonists and later the settlers in horrific manners that came back to haunt them. the term for eating a white settler usually a child in front of captured parents was long pig. some of know the truth. If bush baby or shall we say el republicano wants to do something for the tribes he can pay them the money the dept of interior stole from their funds, and take it from the parasites who got it not the working people. course aint never gonna happen. by the way Custer graduated at the bottom of his class at west point but he was sherman's point man in the burning of the South, where do you think the Indians got the guns to kill him with ? anyhow aint nothin wrong with owning a mule (unless your a peta member) people generally take better care of their pets than corporations take care of their workers. Is there anyone I have not offended this time ?

LoL!!! You do have some original ideas...no doubt about it.

Now, everybody hug your pets even if it's just a mule. I don't mean to offend mules but why not have a horse?

It's been so long, bunnicula, since I've encountered anyone in these boards who requires any thinking whatsover to engage in discourse with that were it not for friends elsewhere I might have forgotten the knack of it, it's true.. For you, like others of your limited scope, cutting and pasting is quite enough to keep you on the top of your form, and it saves me the interminable boredom of leading you around to a complete thought, since you inquire.

I don't mean to offend mules but why not have a horse?

1. Mules are smarter

2. Mules are hardier--don't get sick as often as horses do

3. Mules eat less and thrive doing so

4. Mules can go places horses can't & are much more sure-footed

5. Mules have harder hooves and can go without shoes, thereby saving you $

6. Mules have beautiful long ears wheras horses have tiny deformed-looking ones.

7. Mules are generally friendlier than horses are.

Good grief, Krs! Now you have offended everybody. No doubt about it. HaHaHa!!!

Saabsister,

"This may be blasphemous to say, but I don't watch any of the events. For me, sports are something to participate in not watch others do. How's that for a personal philosophy?"

That's a fantastic personal philosophy in my opinion!

I watch the skating events though, because I used to be a figure skater and I can appreciate every move they make. Now I'm too old to do a triple Salchow. I might succeed but it's too risky and not age appropriate. I was a member of the Washington Figure Association when it was located at Uline Arena. in DC. You probably know that location....can you imagine being in that neighborhood today? I've also skated at Rockefeller Center and Madison Square Garden in NY.

Age is such a #*!@! I would love to get back on an ice rink but I would bust my ass or a hip or something.

So, I'm limited to tennis and swimming. That's all there is now. I would like to say to hell with "appropriate" but I'm stuck here just being a spectator.

I always thought that mules were bull headed and stubborn...just like my husband.

Maybe I'll trade him in for a mule.

Helen, the only time I've ice skated was on a frozen tennis court about twenty years ago. I really should learn since the river nearby occasionally freezes over and now that there's a new ice rink in town. I should give it a whirl (or a tumble). I did watch my dad fall through the ice on the canal one day.

Give it a whirl! LoL!

I fell through the ice on a New Jersey pond. Fortunately, it wasn't deep.

hjw: you might want to re-think that--I forgot to add that mules live longer than horses, too. BTW, the reason think mules are "stubborn" is that they *are* so intelligent--they won't let their rider ride them over a cliff the way a horse would do, or other stupid things liable to get them killed. They *think* about things and often it is safer to let the mule do something *its* way...

Do that. With your horse and the jacka-s-s you've already obtained you can make a mule.

That's an unusually hurtful remark because you don't know anything about the jacka-s-s
that I have "obtained".

Maybe you need some rest.

Actually, you have said enough over time, either jokingly or not, to have elicited more such remarks than you have. It may be that other people feel less friendly toward you than I did and so would not enjoin with you into those areas when you have broached rthem, or afterwards, I don't know, not having consulted with any of the others about you.

It's true that I have recieved such remarks from people on another board....just as you have.

And, like you, I have not consulted with any of the others about you.

No one could feel more friendly toward you than I did.

And that is why your remark was so hurtful to me.

I can't forget about it as bunnicula suggested...although I appreciate her advice.
I really wish that I had a mule right now.

Ah, so then bunnicula. You ARE in agreement with the thoughts of Ms Seal posted above since you have differentiated nonsense that I post from the thoughts of others which I paste.

I'm glad to hear that you've come, finally, to a sensible view of the outrage extant.

Even though Helen did post above that "Men are depressing and disappointing me", thus inviting comment, I'm not sure that you should yake it as an appropriate time to offer your peculiar commiserations.

But tell me, bunnicula, in general, what is your response to the supposition above that men are jacka-s-ses?

Oh, nevermind. I think that I know your position on that.

Oh, there's helen.

Since I share your "No one could feel less friendly toward you than I did" about you, any remark I make in the future toward you should be taken with such antagonism as should be appropriate in th arena at hand, BUT, I made no reference to any remark at any other place but this one.

You know what they say about make ASSumptions, krs. Or do you?

My opininion of men? Well, it depends on the man, doesn't it? There are a few jackasses out there (take a peek in a mirror, krs), but on the whole men are marvelous.

One thing is for sure about this Olymipcs and that is that it gives news organizations excuses for not running important news instead. Now we have the usual total news blackout. I inadvertantly changed the channel to CNN and saw that now they use two news blackout items: a primary (The Olymipcs) and a secondary, which is about a lost seven year old girl (which is better than their mass coverage of shark attacks nationwide).

No News is Bad News.
