I agree actually stushi - There is a LOT of needless silly name calling on both sides and I am urging you not to be baited into it.
There IS someone - eBay and the governments of Europe - telling these people they can't deal in these items - and that decision did not arise out of a vacuum. They were responding to pressure from Jews and apologists who would go beyond banning the sale of these items and ban owning them or even speaking about them if they could. In Germany they have succeded so that to display any Nazi emblem will put you in prison.
But have you noticed that that has done NOTHING to do away with the right wing hatred of foreigners and anyone different? That violence has been active and indeed resurgent?
Managing people by censorship, and that's what this is, simply does not work. My personal thought is that it is counter productive.
You would do better to actively link the ideas and symbols of the Nazis with silly stupidity and selfishness so they are an embarrassment.

I have an idea: someone ought to hack eBay's auctions and insert the word NAZI into each of them, regardless of their content. That way, eBay's Spideer program will cancel all of eBay at once! Woo Hoo! Wouldn't that be funny?

Would I sell a book on how to be a "good" pedophile? I assume that means an effective one in a culture like ours that supresses it. That is not always the case elsewhere in the world.
No I would destroy such a book. But it would be mine and my choice. I would never complain about someone else selling it. I can see that a psychologist might find such a book extremely interesting. I would also read it first because I have often wondered at what point in life a person becomes attracted to children - if it is very very early (by which I mean pre-adolecent) or later in life. I really wonder what it's roots are. And I don't consider a person that is attracted to 16 and 17 year olds a pedophile - simply in bad taste and a LEGAL pedophile here. Now people that are attracted to like 12 and under who display no sexual maturity at all - that is some real warped thinking and what causes it I don't think anyone really knows yet. They certainaly have NO success at treating it. Just about any of such people let loose after serving prison time go right back to it - So I think there would be an enormous benefit in really understanding it so it could be treated.

I don't think eBay has a Spider. They have...............SNITCHES. They say basically that if somebody in the community complains... Go look upstairs. Last I looked two people said they had no problem selling a Nazi shell, and so on.

Your comments about pedophilia are more then I was looking for but at least you answered the question, unlike nycyn who has now gained charter membership into the krs/Helenjw/auroranorth chapter of AAA-Answer Avoiders Anonymous! I gotta habit of writtin a book to answer a simple question - 'cause none of them look simple to me. My wife thinks I borrow trouble in that she will ask if I see "A" problem and I will think of seven ways it can go sour. - a real curmudgeon. But I am off to burm supper....

Suppose I WAS or WANTED to BE a NAZI, Baptist, Klansman, Christian, Hindu or anything else. I can be it and nobody has a complaint unless I try to compell them to be one. I am free to love or hate whom I choose.
If you hate WWII collectibles, don't buy them and don't browse the section.

DeSquirrel- You can certainly be whatever you want to be, but the criteria for someone else "having a complaint" is not your trying to compel them to be one. The criteria just might be what you do to others. The terrorists are not necessarily looking to convert others to their thinking by their actions but rather they are looking to kill the infidels. Nazis weren't looking to convert people but looking to "purify" their race by killing those of other persuasions. I don't particularly hate WWII collectibles, but a Nazi item is not just another war collectible; it is a symbol of the sickest thinking humans are capable of-ethnic cleansing. If you don't see that go back into your militia bunker and watch Schindler's List a few more times.

I don't collect, and I've seen the movie several times.
Stusi, you are what I call a "lowest common denominator" person. By that I mean we can't do this because THAT group might not like it, or we can't do THAT because this other group might not like it. We have to re-shoot movie scenes and TV shows that had WTC images in them because the victims families might be upset. On and on w/o end. You have the right to do as you please as long as you don't hurt anyone else. Nowhere is it written that you have the right to be prevented from getting upset.
Lot's of things get me upset, but not too much in the line of history.

stusi, I had a friend over for lunch, told her about this thread, and she agreed with you. She said she didn't think that ANYthing related to Hitler or the Holocaust should be traded, bought or sold for the very reasons you pointed to in your last post. I certainly respect her pov, so I guess it just boils down to individual choices.
